I paid $ 649 for a Briggs & Stratton Model 030 235 portage-generator for sale at Pep Boys. I live in Houston and there are often storms and floods, which can knock out electrical service. I wanted to have backup power for my small insurance and mortgage business.
The generator is from 5550 watts to 8550 watts. It has a 5-liter tank and can run for about 7 hours to 50% load. It has 120 outlets and 240 and came with an extension cord heavydetermined.
The oil was contained in the box, and after I put oil and fuel it took the first train. And 'moderately strong, what do you expect in this dimension of the generator. The documentation is adequate.
One of the reasons why I recommend this generator is the large number for the beginning of a surge protector or watts. One of the main uses of my generator is to run air conditioners window. A typical 10,000 BTU can operate at 1200 watts, but will require additional 1800 watts to start. A larger unitmay take more than Watts, so I have 2,000 or more additional starting watts, if you want to propose to run an air conditioner. It will not be able to run the central air conditioner with the generator, usually because they have 10,000 or more by Watts, the more watts in operation.
Here's an idea of what you start with this generator:
10000 Two room air conditioners (2,400 watts) Refrigerator (800) Freezer (500) Television (500) Microwave (1,000) Plus some smallBulbs
If you're going to get a generator, here are some suggestions:
Do not wait for a hurricane or flood, generators will be sold out or very expensive Do not undersize the generator, get one that is big enough for your needs Get some cans of 5 liters of petrol and the extra fuel Add fuel stabilizer to the gas stored and change at least once a year Get a heavy duty extension cords designed for generators Be careful and read the instructions to generators and gasoline aredangerous! Generators are a target for theft to keep them in a safe place
